10-4 Gear was founded with a simple mission: to honor the men and women of law enforcement who dedicate their lives to protecting our communities, preserving order, and standing watch when others cannot.

This mission is deeply personal.

10-4 Gear is dedicated to the legacy of my uncle, Sheriff Dan Frost, a highly respected law enforcement officer whose career exemplified courage, professionalism, and service above self. Throughout his distinguished career, Sheriff Frost earned a reputation as an exceptional investigator, leader, and protector of his community. He trained with the FBI in Washington, D.C., investigated some of the most significant criminal cases in New York State, including the infamous Rochester bombings, and was recognized among the Top 100 Law Enforcement Officers in the United States.

Yet beyond the awards and accolades, he represented something even more important—an unwavering commitment to justice, integrity, and service.

His example inspired the creation of 10-4 Gear.

A Legacy of Service

For generations, our family has answered the call to serve.

Our family’s history includes military service dating back to the French and Indian War, the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War, World Wars I and II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Cold War. Law enforcement service became another chapter in that legacy through Sheriff Dan Frost’s dedication to protecting and serving others.

Growing up around veterans, police officers, firefighters, and first responders instilled a profound respect for those willing to place themselves between danger and the innocent.

10-4 Gear exists because that respect deserves expression.
